Oddities

This page leads you to photos that do not fit on any of the other pages.  Some of them are funny, some tragic, and some just odd-- like the photo on the left.  I took it in Rhode Island but I have no idea what it means.

The existence of this page does not mean that there are not strange things on the regular photo pages, there are.  But they have a context.  For those without a context, click on the row of buttons below. Please note that there are only a few thumbnails here.  Generally you get what you see.

Other Odd Things

There are other odd things on the main photo pages.  In Kosovo, Father Sava, the Cyber Monk, maintains his web page from his cell at the Decani Monastery.  You can see his cell.

Radio 21 in Prishtina, Kosova held a poll and named Bill Clinton the Statesman of the Millennium.  No kidding.  You can see ways Kosova honors our former president on the Kosovo page.

Across the border, a mad dictator, Enver Hoxha, built over 700,000, that's seven hundred thousand,  bunkers to protect against invasion from whom?  You can see pictures of some of them on the Albania page.

In an odd way the "Road of the Fortified Churches" in France reminded me of Albania's bunkers.

My favorite crossroads in the Balkans in is Croatia.  You can find it on the Zagreb page.

Finally, Slovak Whimsy has a whole section on the Slovakia picture page.
