Sitka Sound is our front yard and our highway.  For many it is Sitka's source of food and employment.  "When the tide is out, the table is set."  Most of these shots were taken within half an hour of Sitka by boat.  While we don't have a lot of roads we have a variety of places to go in a boat.  Sometimes the boats carry musicians, like the musicians from the Sitka Summer Music Festival, who provide a little Mozart with the scenery.

Dog Point Fish Camp is a place where Native Alaskans teach all Sitka's children traditional subsistence skills as well as the Tlingit language and culture.  The camp is below, along with some dancers from the Kogwonton on a boat on the way to the camp as part of a benefit.
